“Simon For President”

It was Mariah Carey night at American Idol and I must admit, I’m starting to agree with Randy more than Simon. Simon seems to want Jason Castro to win and that’s just retarded. A stray cat could sing better than Jason Castro. He just purrs and meows here and there and calls it his version of a song. I thought Simon was into dogs?
I’m now pretty sure Carly Smithson isn’t going to win this season. She’s wasting her ability because she lacks creativity. I don’t know why the judges don’t seem to like Sayesha Mercado’s versions though, I think she sings well. My top 3 right now is David Archuleta, David Cook and Brooke White. I’m guessing one of these 3 will win this season. I’m starting to like David Cook more than anyone else, I think he’s “got the whole package”; ability, creativity, looks and personality. His originality is definitely there…in fact, last season’s Blake Lewis was in the final two purely due to his originality.

Anyone who thinks this is merely a singing competition is wrong. Did Taylor Hicks have the better vocals of his season? Did Jordan Sparks have better pipes than Melinda? Not in my opinion. This show is about finding a STAR, which isnt just someone with a great voice, you need stage presence, good use of emotions, originality, charisma, etc. Those are the things that the public looks for. JASON CASTRO has that. Being blessed with the ability to belt out a tune doesnt automatically make u star quality .

I never said it was a singing competition. I did mention “the whole package” and NO, Jason doesn’t have that. The only thing he’s got is looks - which is something all the other members have. I don’t get why people keep saying he’s got personality; all I see is an extremely shy guy who whispers instead of sing. He whispers because he doesn’t have “the big ol’ voice”. He whispers because if he sings loudly, his lack of talent will be further highlighted. Jason makes Sanjaya sound like a superstar. He’s going to go soon enough.
